OVNCST-Friends is seeking stories from those whose North Carolina ancestors fought in the American Revolutionary War. Most people know the names of the leaders like William Campbell, Isaac Shelby, and John Sevier; however, we know that there are untold stories of local heroes from each of the eleven OVNCST counties, as well as from other nearby counties. We want to hear them, share them, and celebrate them. If you have heard such a story or know someone who has such a story, please contact us and we will get back to you. Or if you wish to, please write up the story and provide your contact information and we will get back to you before we share it on our website or Facebook page. [email protected]

All donations to the OVNCST will be used in the counties designated by the donor. These funds will be used to advance the Overmountain Victory North Carolina State Trail projects including trail maintenance in those counties or area designated.

Volunteers are also needed for a wide range of tasks. If you have a favorite OVNCST section and would like to join a group of volunteers, we will connect you. Our goal is to support the communities that this historic trail traverses by leveraging the trail to further other local community goals, including education, economic development, historic preservation, public health, and environmental stewardship.
